Plantation Shutters Pricing: What to Expect in Ireland

18 July 20266 min read

If you’re researching plantation shutters for the first time, pricing can feel opaque. Quotes vary widely, and it’s not always clear what’s driving the difference. This guide breaks down the factors that shape the price of made-to-measure shutters in Ireland so you can budget with confidence — and avoid surprises.

What actually determines the price?

Shutter pricing is almost never “per window” off a price list. Made-to-measure shutters are priced on a combination of five factors:

  • Material. Hardwood costs more than faux wood or ABS polymer. Waterproof collections sit at a premium because of the engineering involved.
  • Louver size. 63mm, 76mm and 89mm louvers each carry slightly different manufacturing costs; larger louvers use more material per panel.
  • Panel configuration. Full-height, café-style and tier-on-tier layouts use different amounts of material and hardware.
  • Window size & shape. Larger openings and custom shapes (arches, bays) require more material and labour.
  • Fitting option. Full installation adds a service cost; “we measure, you install” and DIY options reduce it.

Rough price ranges per window

As a general guide for a standard Irish window (roughly 1200 × 1200mm), you can expect:

Faux Wood (Nevada)

The most affordable route — the look of real wood with enhanced durability.

Waterproof ABS (Hampton)

Mid-range, engineered for bathrooms and kitchens where moisture is a concern.

Hardwood (Madison)

The premium tier — finest natural woods for an authentic, luxurious finish.

These are indicative ranges only. The only way to get an accurate figure is a made-to-measure quote based on your exact window dimensions.
